What do you think of these changes in Facebook? Do you like them?

There was this particular story that stuck in my mind when a wife changed his relationship status from married to single. When the husband found out he killed his wife. I don’t know if it’s true but I assume it is because they even got his picture. So I thought that Facebook is definitely a no-no for both me and my husband.

Oh no, don’t get me wrong. I don’t think we’ll ever end up that way but that was what Facebook was to me – before.

Now, I super love Facebook! I don’t regret ever signing up. I’m a stay-at-home mom and it’s been great and I have been very thankful to be staying at home but it can get lonely sometimes. I don’t always have anyone to talk to and sometimes I just feel disconnected with the rest of the world and especially my friends.

Facebook changed all of that. It’s different from YM because you just can’t buzz your friends any time you want to talk to them. All of them have jobs and you’ll never know when you’re being an intruder. With Facebook you can say anything you want and anytime you want to. You don’t get a response every time but it feels good to know that at least they know what’s on your mind at the moment or what’s happening to you.  It may be weird especially for you people who are surrounded with your friends or colleagues but for me, it’s definitely a connection.

Still, I know there are dangers with Facebook but I’m glad I have been made aware of those before signing up. Currently, the only game I’m playing is Farmville and I like it though I’m still careful not to overdo things. I have also made Facebook my homepage so that’s the first thing that pops on my screen every morning. I love reading my friends’ status updates which instantly updates me on their lives. It’s not a replacement for actual human interaction but it’s good enough for me.
