When you have just been hired to be part of a certain company one of the things that symbolizes you’re really in but doesn’t get that much attention is when you have received your ID. If you’re in the customer service industry and have to meet customers personally you also have to have your badge pinned in your uniform. Badges are a must have for the service industry. I would always look for a waiter’s badge when I ask for something. From my experience, I can’t rely on the uniform of the crew because it’s easier to mistake a piece of clothing with a uniform but if the person has a badge on then you can never go wrong.

Badges are not only used as IDs. In the last election button badges have become really popular. People would proudly support their candidate of choice with a badge pinned on their shirt. It was nice to see people going out of their way to campaign for their candidate. Now that the election is over the people have also set aside their badges as it has already served its purpose. But come next election expect that the button badges will have its come back albeit in different colors.

Writing essays can be hard especially to students who are still learning about everything. But once you get the hang of it, it can be effortless and easy. When I was still in school I remember that I liked to write but not that much. I still prefer to read more than writing. In fact, I was a voracious reader back then when I still have all the time in the world. Now I still read but I don’t read books anymore. I read blog posts. hehe

I remember my friend who got a job in the research paper writing industry. No, she does not write research papers but she does essay editing. I believe her term was she was a proofreader. She became so good at her job that she got accepted at a company in Singapore doing the same thing. That was at the time when our countrymen were still not going in droves to Singapore. Unfortunately, she just stayed there for six months before going back home. I lost touch with her after that and didn’t find out why.

Anyway, writing essays can be tedious but fun. I suggest students try to pay attention when their teacher teaches them how to write essays at school. Who knows they might grow up and have that as their profession?

Ever since I started wearing eyeglasses I have become aware how important our vision is. For those who are not wearing one they are not aware how inconvenient it is to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses. I hope they would take care of their eyes and be happy about the fact that they do not have to wear any prescription lenses.

That is why I was concerned when I found out hubby’s eyes are hurting. It turns red for apparently no reason at all and the redness would last two to three days. Since we had no idea why it’s happening we searched online forums. Good thing we found this Vision Forum. We realized hubby has dry and irritated eyes so we quickly bought eye drops suggested in the forum. Now whenever hubby’s eyes feel dry and irritated he’ll quickly get his eye drops for instant eye relief. He does not have to suffer anymore and I’m not worried about his vision getting affected.

We have been so busy yesterday and today for the renewal of our car’s registration. I thought the process was smooth and easy. There were so many steps to do but they were quickly done. After applying for car insurance, successfully passing the emission test, and finishing the required stencil process I thought we’ll just pay and we’re good to go. But oh, I was so wrong. We have just passed the necessary documents to the evaluation officer when they suddenly stood up in their seats and announced their system just went offline. We were positive that it was just a temporary glitch in their system and would last an hour at most but an hour already went by and they’re still offline.

So with a heavy heart we went home. The next day we went there again almost 100% sure that everything is already fine but we got the shock of our lives when we went there to find that they have been offline for almost 24 hours. So we just went to SM to eat. Good thing we called their office after an hour. We were informed that their system is already up and running.

We hurriedly went there and submitted our documents. My eyes grew big when I saw that the documents needed to be processed was about an inch thick. So we just resigned ourselves by waited the whole afternoon. The first 2 hours of waiting was super slow. The LTO officers were super slow and we thought we wouldn’t get called within the day. Fortunately, when it was already 4 pm they must have woken up from their stupor and began working quickly. All of a sudden they were calling more and more names at a lesser interval. The thought of going home at exactly 5pm must have motivated them to work fast. Thirty minutes before 5pm our names were called and we got our stickers. Yehey, finally we were done with our first ever car registration and was ready to go home.

Many Americans are now finding it hard to find US online casinos. This is because of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) which made it illegal to transfer funds within US borders for the purpose of online gaming. This was passed into law last 2006. This law resulted to many online casinos that no longer accept transactions from players based in the US. This led to the drastic decline of usa casino sites. But because the law is poorly written there are still some sites that accept transactions from US players. Please be advised that you should check the laws in your local jurisdiction before making the choice to gamble online.

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Law, however, doesn’t make it illegal for Americans to play casino games online. The US players just have to find a casino that accepts Americans so they can continue playing their favorite casino games. You have to remember, of course, to play in moderation and not to the point of being hooked to gambling.

If you’re finding it difficult to look for online casinos that accept US players then just look for the keywords “casino usa” and “online casino us” which would lead you to the ones that accept American players. These accepts deposits or withdrawals to and from American banks.

When the US imposed the UIGEA ban the government wanted to make it illegal to withdraw and deposit money in US banks that are related to gambling. Unfortunately, this law is one of the most difficult to enforce because the internet is well known for not being regulated. That is why some sites still get away with transacting with players from the US. There are now clever schemes employed by online casino operators that allow users to buy credits or other unit of measurement, which can then be gambled and even redeemed later for money. It’s very difficult to find them but they still exist. Once the government finds a way to effectively enforce this it would become even more difficult.

When I was still looking for a camera to buy online I must have looked at a ton of digital camera reviews. It was my first time to buy a digital camera so I had to rely solely on those camera reviews. It took me days and days of research before I was able to find the perfect model for my budget and it took me a few more days before I found the cheapest but most reliable seller.

I believe I got a good deal on my Canon Powershot camera. It has personally delivered at my doorstep and I paid cash-on-delivery. In just a few minutes, the transaction was over and a year later I’m still happy with my camera. It takes great pictures and it has helped us a lot preserve a lot of our family memories.

If you’re looking for a good online deal there are lots out there. Just take time and effort to research so you’ll find the thing that you’re looking for.

I know a lot of you are waiting for the launch of BC Bloggers 4. I did promise it would be first week of July but forgive me for being a late because I was waiting for the next Google update. Well, it seems like it’s not going to come this month yet so there’s no use waiting for it. So rather than wait let’s just get to work building links for our new blogs, right?

HOW TO JOIN?

BC BLOGGERS 4 APPLICATION FORM

First, I’m just going to say for the record that I have been lax with the participants. BC Bloggers has indeed made our blogging lives a little easier but it won’t work without the cooperation of the members. I will send an email to the previous batches to supply me with the url of their BC Blogger links and it will all be posted in a Google spreadsheet available for all members to check. From there we’ll know who has not linked back and who has removed the links. The BC Bloggers link should also be visible in the homepage and not buried somewhere in your blog which we can not see. Take note by this I don’t mean that you clutter your homepage with all the blog list. A single link in the navigation bar or in the sidebar will do.

So for the BC Bloggers 4 aside from the previous requirements I would also require you to make a blank page dedicated to the BC Bloggers before joining. This is where you will put the links given once we have finished gathering enough members. You can be creative with the title of the page as long as you include BC Bloggers in it. I have to do this so we’ll be assured that you have every intention of putting up the links and it would be fair for those who actually put it up.

Second, aside from the things I mentioned above BC Bloggers 4 will still work the same way as the previous batch. Just head over to my other blog, Paula’s Place for the steps in joining. Submit your blogs in the application form.

This week was test week for Z. I’m not yet sure how he’ll fare but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Just this morning he remarked out of the blue, “I’m happy at school, Mom.” I’m so glad he’s happy. I realized that getting high grades is not my priority for my son. I don’t want him to be pressured like I was when I was little. I want him to be carefree and enjoy his childhood and don’t think about grades and stuff but I want him to realize on his own when he’s a little older the importance of doing well in school and persevere out of his own free will.

I also want his education to be well-rounded. When I was studying, my life was school only. I had little extracurricular activity. They say it takes a village to raise a child and that is true indeed. Although well meaning parents try to teach their kids everything they need to know in life it would NEVER be enough. That’s why I hope Z grows up active in church like his Dad. Aside from learning about the Bible and God’s teaching he will learn to interact with the members of our community there.

I also want Z to be exposed financially at his young age. I’m glad that my Dad told me that he wanted us to spend a night at his home every once in a while so we can bond and he can teach me a thing or two about his business. That’s why tomorrow we’ll be spending the night at his place and I hope we can do this once a week. Z was not keen with the idea of spending the night apart from his Daddy but I convinced him when I told him that I wanted to spend time with my Dad because I wasn’t able to when I was little and that he would teach us how to sell furniture. I hope he learns a valuable life lesson there too.

All in all I think Z is doing well. He has indeed improved a lot and I’m hoping we’ll be able to do a good job in raising him. If you’ll ask me how we can raise him well a year or two ago I wouldn’t have had the slightest idea but now I know that with my husband and mine’s combined efforts, with the help of our relatives, and our community we would be able to raise him to be a confident, well-balanced, and God fearing person.

I was watching the news the other day and the segment was the one where an ordinary citizen can seek the help of the news station to fix something in their area. I was amused that the problem they were reporting that day was only about cable wires but when they flashed the cable wires in question on the TV screen I was disgusted with what I saw. The cable wires from different cable, phone, and internet companies were installed haphazardly and it was so disgusting to look at. It also became a hazard because truck pass there all the time and it was not uncommon that a wire would get stuck in a truck thus interrupting their services.

Good thing the residents knew where to complain. Just a call from the news team got the different cable and internet companies running to the site. They promised to fix the problem right away. I know they would contact an Equipment Rental company to fix the problem. These services have company trucks at their disposal but if they want to fix the problem they would need more than that. They would have to look for scissor lifts rental to untangle those cable wires. Aside from that, the different companies would have to work closely together in order for it to be a success.
