If you’re suffering from internet connection just like ours I suggest you compare internet service with your neighbors  and online to find out which provider will give you the best service.  A good internet connection is fast and stable and at a reasonable price.  They also have to have good and reliable customer support to help you out when you need them.

The good news is as the competition gets tougher the internet providers are doing better and better with providing their customers the best service and connection possible.  Here at our place, we can easily switch and choose from four different providers.

I personally like the bundled deals more than the ones that provide you with just internet connection.  For example, our current provider, aside from internet, provides us with a phone line.  Bundled promos will give you more value for your money.

As technologies become advanced we’re getting more and more satisfied with our connection.  As I’ve told you we had our service interrupted after the storm but it took just 24 hours for it to be up and running again.  That’s not too bad considering that the storm hit us badly.  So I guess I can say I’m still a satisfied customer despite that.

I first learned about it a few days ago when I heard the buzz that Google had another update.  I didn’t believe it at first because I thought they only do the updates every three months and the next update is supposed to be scheduled during the first week of July.  It turned out they were right because when I checked my blogs both the PR 1 and the PR 3 that I lost were all back.  I wonder what happened this time.  Well, whatever happened I hope this time it’s permanent. I would need all the PR that I can get so I can buy things I need like trunk liners.  Blogging is my hobby but it’s nice because I get to earn too.

Aside from gadgets, I also spend a considerable amount of time looking at Land for Sale.  I’ve said a lot of times it was my dream to settle at where we’re currently residing and although we can’t afford it yet it gives me quite a satisfaction at looking at and dreaming of owning one of the vacant lots here.  Well, I hope that that hobby of drooling over real estate for sale will stop now that we’re finally moving to our own house.

What I like about online classifieds is they have such a variety of listings that you can find everything from Vacation Rentals to work-at-home jobs.  I have found the current job that I have in one of these sites and I’ve been working there for almost two years now so don’t worry because the listings are quite reliable.  I also found some great discounts regarding vacation packages.  I’m hoping we can take advantage of this one of these days.

If you’re a job provider then you would benefit a lot from online classified ads.  Aside from finding reliable and quality workers from all over the world you don’t have to pay a single cent for to put up that kind of ad.

In October 2009 a study was released by TMP Directional Marketing which revealed that more and more consumers are using the internet to search for services and products they need.  The study showed that it increased as much as 31%.

The study further showed that people would use the internet to find out more information regarding the brands they’re thinking of buying and also to find local businesses that offer those particular brands.  Furthermore, 83% of the local search users contacted the businesses they found offline – 46% by phone and 37% by visiting the business themselves.  Half of those searches made the purchase.

Despite this study there are still a handful of local businesses that do not have a web presence.  If we are to base it on the study solely then these local businesses are losing much income because of this.

Good thing is it is quite easy for a local business to develop an online presence.  The first step is signing up at local searches.  One such reliable local search engine is Local.com. For a minimal fee you can register your business at their website so that it would be easier for potential customers to find your business.  For example, if you have a business in Phoenix, Arizona just submit your business in the proper category, under Phoenix florists if you have a flower shop or under Phoenix movie theaters if you have a theater.  Then you have to create a landing page or a company profile so that potential customers would know the what you’re offering and would be enticed to choose your business.  After that you can sit back and relax and the next time a someone searches for “florist Phoenix AZ” then you’ll be sure that your business profile will come up for the customer to view.

That’s just a simple way to start growing your online presence.  You can also try more creative ways later but as a first step that should be enough.

So how do you buy your own domain?  You can register your own domain at a domain registrar.  Domain registrars are websites that sell domain names.  Be careful though because there are a lot of fake domain registrars out there so it’s better to stick with reliable ones like GoDaddy, Namecheap, and Dynadot.  I personally use Namecheap because unlike GoDaddy it doesn’t add unnecessary stuff in your shopping cart and it comes with a domain privacy free for one year.

The first step you need to do is register for an account at the domain registrar of your choice.  You will then be asked to fill out some personal information.  If you already have a domain name of your choice then proceed to the domain availability tool to check if that particular domain name is available for you to register.  If it is already available then you have to be creative and come up with a short, easy to recall domain name.  Once you’ve hit the jackpot then proceed to checkout.  It’s better to stick with .com, .net, and .org extensions though.   At the checkout you can pay with your credit card or Paypal.
