Car Troubles
We spent the whole day yesterday trying to get our car fixed. Thank God it’s not that serious because it’s still running but we still have to get the suspension fixed because in time our car’s wheels will be destroyed if we ignore it. Being first time car owners we’re really having a hard time getting it fixed. We don’t know have a trusted mechanic nearby who can help us so yesterday we roamed Paranaque looking for a mechanic. We found one and fell in line for two hours only to find out they don’t have the equipment to fix it. Talk about an afternoon wasted!
So we went home feeling dejected but just after we got out of the car I noticed that there’s a mechanic near our parking area. We got the impression that he was an expert when we talked to him so we were ecstatic. He said he could fix our car the next day and he has all the right equipments. However, when we asked for a quote he gave us a price higher than normal so our joy quickly turned to sadness.
So tomorrow we’re going to try again and look for someone to fix it. It’s easy to get frustrated but I know we’re still inexperienced and in time we’re going to find someone we can trust to help us with our car problems.
Chewee Gets a Haircut
I know it’s late and it would have been of more benefit to him during the hot, humid days of summer than during the incoming rainy days but we just can’t help it. His thick coat has a lot of fleas and we don’t want our home to get infected. There was a groomer who does home service for our neighbor who has two shih tzus so we got his number and asked for his rate. It was the same rate as that in the malls – P500. Another neighbor who had an equipment volunteered to do it for free. So what were we to do? We said yes to our neighbor and so last weekend, off went Chewee’s long hair. I didn’t hear him bark unlike when he’s at the groomer’s table but I think it’s because Bam was there to hold him. She said he tried to bite our neighbor at first but after they positioned him so that his face was away from our neighbor he settled down. It was a good two hours before they were done. So now Chewee is hair free. When we’re parading him at the gate the kids look at him wondering what happened to him. Poor Chewee! Even Z noticed and told me, “Mommy, nagugulat yung mga bata kay Chewee.” LOL! Don’t worry Chewee, your hair will grow back I promise!
The Beauty of Roses

Do you agree that the Rose is the most beautiful flower in the world? In fact, it’s so exquisite in beauty that’s why I think it was necessary to protect it with thorns. It is also the most popular flower. Who hasn’t heard about the rose and its beauty? As if that’s not enough the Rose comes in a variety of colors too. Each color conveys a different feeling or emotion. So it’s no surprise that people give roses to their love ones to show them how they feel. Even the late President Ferdinand Marcos used the rose to convey his feeling to the infamous Imelda when he was still courting her. Imelda recounted while her other suitors gave her big bouquets of flowers the young Ferdinand gave her just two roses. One rose already in full bloom while the other rose still hasn’t opened its petals. Years later she found out that the the rose in full bloom signifies Ferdinand’s feelings towards her as he was already madly in love while the other rose signifies Imelda’s heart was still closed.
So if you want to show how you feel to someone special then don’t hesitate to buy a rose for him/her. It might not land you in the Guinness Book of Records for being the most original but the beauty of the rose is it never goes unappreciated.

Car Maintenance
We have our car for seven months now and it’s almost due for another tune up and the yearly car registration. Thank God it has only broken down on us once in the last seven months and we’re trying to prevent any future breakdowns by having it checked regularly. We’re still looking on the lookout for a cheap car insurance though. Hubby has become adept at checking the car regularly. Now that he’s using it every day going to and from work he needs the car more than ever. If ever the car breaks down and he has to commute to work he needs to ride three jeepneys to reach his workplace and I know that would be a nightmare to him. So we have to take care of our car more than ever.
Cars need to be checked regularly. The car owner should be vigilant in checking these in order to avoid inconveniences in the future.
1. Cars have a lot of fluids that need to be checked like the engine oil, automatic transmission fluid or clutch fluid, windscreen washer, and freon. Check these fluid levels weekly and replenish when necessary. By doing these simple checks once a week you can save a lot of money by preventing a car breakdown.
2. Check the tire inflation pressure weekly too. Ours should be at 30. You can check yours by reading your car’s user manual. Remember to regularly check the spare tire as well. Nothing is more frustrating than having a flat tire and finding out that the spare tire is flat as well.
3. Once a month check the car lights if they’re all good. You have to check them all including the headlights, high and low beam, tail lights, reversing lights, front, rear and side turn signals, and brake lights. Replace lights that are not working immediately for your safety on the road.
Getting Used to Changes
One of the perks of moving to our new place is everything is so accessible unlike when we’re still in Cainta. There you can’t buy anything unless you ride a tricycle or a jeep. Here we only have to walk in order to buy meat and vegetables. Z’s school is also a short walking distance away and even the barber shop and the salon is within sight. The grocery, on the other hand, is entirely a different matter. We need to endure an hour of traffic (at the worst scenario) to go to the nearest SM. We’re almost out of stock of items like milk, canned goods, noodles, soap, vitamins, and biscuits but until now we haven’t set any plans to go grocery shopping. We’re hesitant to do our grocery at SM because the goods are more expensive there. Oh well, I guess that’s one of the changes we have signed up for since we decided to move here.
The Process of Moving
So we’re moving this Saturday and we’re pretty excited. I asked my husband to buy Buy and Sell magazine so we can look some movers that can help us with our things. Moving is a painful process both physically and emotionally. Physically because it can be really tiring packing and unpacking all those things and emotionally because you’ll be leaving part of yourself behind. I don’t want to dwell on the emotional part anymore. I’m putting it farthest from my mind. Life must go on.
We’re fortunate because this is only the second time we’re moving. I also hope this is my last but I think that would not be the case as the house is old and we’re going to have it renovated once we have the funds. Our first experience was painless. We hired a lot of help to carry the boxes so we practically did nothing. I’m so glad we did because moving to the third floor is not easy. I tell you they were really tired after from carrying all those heavy boxes and we had to pay them extra for their hard work.
As I have mentioned this Saturday will be our moving day. We have hired a truck for our things plus three helpers. I know our landlord will bring some friends too to help him with the pulley to bring down fridge, the cabinets, and the washing machine. We have already shelled out a lot of money getting the house ready and the last thing we have to pay for is the movers. I just hope our things survive the relocation and also that everything will fit in the truck.
How to Find a Reputable Car Dealer
If you’re looking for a reputable Honda dealer then Airport Marina Honda CA is the one for you. It is located in Los Angeles, California and has gained the reputation of one of the top Honda Dealers in California. They offer both brand new cars and even pre-owned cars. Aside from selling cars at reasonable prices they also have courteous and helpful staff that will help you with all your inquiries. Just drop by their dealer and try out the latest Honda models that are all available for test drive.
If you’re thinking of buying a used Honda Civic CA you might be wondering why it would be better to buy from a reputable car dealer than buy privately. Buying from a licensed dealer means you’re protected by the Sale of Goods Act which states that goods for sale must be of acceptable quality. If you buy privately then you won’t be covered by the Sale of Goods Act so you have no legal protection if you find out later you have been misled or worst if you bought a stolen car.
You’ll know if you’re dealing with a reputable dealer if they are members of a trade association. These dealers are bound by its code of conduct so you know you’re in good hands. These dealers also offer convenience because you can look at the cars at your own leisure. On the other hand, finding private sellers in the newspaper and meeting them one by one can be tedious. You will be offered comprehensive warranties, insurance, servicing arrangement so that’s less headache for you while if you go for a private seller there would be no warranty and you will be left looking for insurance by yourself. So if you want that Honda LA buy it at a car dealer instead.
Search the internet for a car dealer that would cater your needs or better yet ask your family and friends to recommend one. This would make finding a reputable car dealer much easier.

Why Landlords Should Get Insurance for their Property
A landlord whose life savings may be invested in his properties should consider taking out Let Property Insurance for his properties. Renting it out to tenants is putting his assets at risk so why not protect himself from that risk? Also the landlord won’t be able to check his property thoroughly because the occupants would be renting it so for his peace of mind he should protect himself by getting a Landlords Insurance or more popularly know as the home owner insurance.
What are covered under the homeowner insurance? There is the Building insurance which covers not only the building structure but also some permanent fixtures and fittings inside the house like kitchen/bathroom fittings and floorings. Aside from the Building insurance the landlord will also benefit from the Content Insurance which will cover temporary items lie carpets, furnitures, electronic gadgets, and more.
The landlord will also get protection from fire, flood, theft, earthquake, explosion, etc.
A good landlord will know the importance of keeping his property well maintained. Your tenants are entitled by law to have a safe and habitable environment. A well kept property will ensure that a rent cheque will come in every month for you. So eliminate those headaches and let the insurance take care of it for you.
