When you have just been hired to be part of a certain company one of the things that symbolizes you’re really in but doesn’t get that much attention is when you have received your ID. If you’re in the customer service industry and have to meet customers personally you also have to have your badge pinned in your uniform. Badges are a must have for the service industry. I would always look for a waiter’s badge when I ask for something. From my experience, I can’t rely on the uniform of the crew because it’s easier to mistake a piece of clothing with a uniform but if the person has a badge on then you can never go wrong.

Badges are not only used as IDs. In the last election button badges have become really popular. People would proudly support their candidate of choice with a badge pinned on their shirt. It was nice to see people going out of their way to campaign for their candidate. Now that the election is over the people have also set aside their badges as it has already served its purpose. But come next election expect that the button badges will have its come back albeit in different colors.

Essay Writing

Writing essays can be hard especially to students who are still learning about everything. But once you get the hang of it, it can be effortless and easy. When I was still in school I remember that I liked to write but not that much. I still prefer to read more than writing. In fact, I was a voracious reader back then when I still have all the time in the world. Now I still read but I don’t read books anymore. I read blog posts. hehe

I remember my friend who got a job in the research paper writing industry. No, she does not write research papers but she does essay editing. I believe her term was she was a proofreader. She became so good at her job that she got accepted at a company in Singapore doing the same thing. That was at the time when our countrymen were still not going in droves to Singapore. Unfortunately, she just stayed there for six months before going back home. I lost touch with her after that and didn’t find out why.

Anyway, writing essays can be tedious but fun. I suggest students try to pay attention when their teacher teaches them how to write essays at school. Who knows they might grow up and have that as their profession?

BC Bloggers 4 is Now Accepting Members

I know a lot of you are waiting for the launch of BC Bloggers 4. I did promise it would be first week of July but forgive me for being a late because I was waiting for the next Google update. Well, it seems like it’s not going to come this month yet so there’s no use waiting for it. So rather than wait let’s just get to work building links for our new blogs, right?

HOW TO JOIN?

BC BLOGGERS 4 APPLICATION FORM

First, I’m just going to say for the record that I have been lax with the participants. BC Bloggers has indeed made our blogging lives a little easier but it won’t work without the cooperation of the members. I will send an email to the previous batches to supply me with the url of their BC Blogger links and it will all be posted in a Google spreadsheet available for all members to check. From there we’ll know who has not linked back and who has removed the links. The BC Bloggers link should also be visible in the homepage and not buried somewhere in your blog which we can not see. Take note by this I don’t mean that you clutter your homepage with all the blog list. A single link in the navigation bar or in the sidebar will do.

So for the BC Bloggers 4 aside from the previous requirements I would also require you to make a blank page dedicated to the BC Bloggers before joining. This is where you will put the links given once we have finished gathering enough members. You can be creative with the title of the page as long as you include BC Bloggers in it. I have to do this so we’ll be assured that you have every intention of putting up the links and it would be fair for those who actually put it up.

Second, aside from the things I mentioned above BC Bloggers 4 will still work the same way as the previous batch. Just head over to my other blog, Paula’s Place for the steps in joining. Submit your blogs in the application form.

Tangled Wires

I was watching the news the other day and the segment was the one where an ordinary citizen can seek the help of the news station to fix something in their area. I was amused that the problem they were reporting that day was only about cable wires but when they flashed the cable wires in question on the TV screen I was disgusted with what I saw. The cable wires from different cable, phone, and internet companies were installed haphazardly and it was so disgusting to look at. It also became a hazard because truck pass there all the time and it was not uncommon that a wire would get stuck in a truck thus interrupting their services.

Good thing the residents knew where to complain. Just a call from the news team got the different cable and internet companies running to the site. They promised to fix the problem right away. I know they would contact an Equipment Rental company to fix the problem. These services have company trucks at their disposal but if they want to fix the problem they would need more than that. They would have to look for scissor lifts rental to untangle those cable wires. Aside from that, the different companies would have to work closely together in order for it to be a success.

Audition for Church Band

Hubby is planning to audition as a guitarist for CCF. He has been practicing every afternoon after he goes home from work. Of course, Z wouldn’t let him practice without him tagging along so whenever he sees his Dad pulling out his guitar and sitting in front of the computer he would pull out his own chair and put it beside Dad and get his own guitar. It doesn’t matter how long Dad practices – maybe an hour or two – Z would patiently “practice” with him. Sometimes I would catch Z just looking at what his Dad is doing. Now, it’s for sure we have another guitarist in the house. Pretty soon Z would be accompanying his Dad to his gigs. Oh, I really hope hubby gets accepted as a guitarist in CCF. I would want Z to see his Dad serving the Lord through music and I hope Z would follow in his Dad’s footsteps.

Still Smoking

Oh no, the toddler who was reported as smoking is still smoking until today and can’t seem to kick his habit. His mother has given up on him and was reported as saying that she thinks he would never be able to kick this bad habit of his. It’s so sad that this child unknowingly is destroying his body at a very young age. When he gets older it’ll be likely that he’ll also need pronexin because smoking is also bad for the skin. As for the lung ailments he’s going to face – oh, let’s just hope that by some miracle he’ll never suffer from those.

Is anybody going to help this child before it’s too late?

Phones for Sale

Whenever we want to upgrade our phone we always go to St. Francis Square. We’re there every Sunday because that’s where we also attend church so we get to see the phones they display in the little stalls in the ground floor every week. Although it doesn’t look like it they have all the latest phone models available even the Apple’s iphone and iphone accessories. We’re a fan of their second hand phones and have purchased three such phones there. Aside from getting a good deal, they offer a one week warranty so you can check out if the phone you bought is in good condition. So far we are satisfied and have used the phones without problem for years. In a few years Z would be old enough to want to have his own phone and you all know now where we’ll take him to shop.
