Being a mom means I am the guardian of my kids’ health. I take them to the doctor when they are sick and sometimes I even go the extra step of researching more information about the medicine online. The reason why I go the extra mile is because I heard horror stories where some people get sick because of the medicine that’s supposed to cure them.
Take for example the drug, Topamax. This is a prescription drug to treat epilepsy and even migraines. It was prescribed by doctors to trusting patients hoping that they would be cured. Then suddenly news broke that babies born to mothers who took Topamax have increased risk in having cleft lips. For a mom like me hearing that would like living your worst nightmare!
If you’re one of those victims then my advice is contact an Austin personal injury attorney right away. These are expects in this subject and can help you at least get justice you deserve.

My mother-in-law will be coming back home for a visit so we’re very excited. She is a cool mom-in-law that’s why I have no problems with her. If you’re able to see her you would think she’s just my husband’s older sister. She has long straight her and she’s so slim! She was slimmer than me even before I got pregnant with my youngest.

I remember two years ago during her trip back home my beauty conscious mom-in-law had to undergo surgery to remove her varicose veins. After the procedure, her doctor advised her to wear support hose like the doctor recommended jobst compression stockings. These are tight fitting stockings that can be a little below the knee or above the knee. This gives regulated pressure to the legs thus helps improve the blood flow to the lower extremities. These type of stockings are said to be beneficial in preventing and treating varicose veins. Aside from that it can also prevent the deadly DVT or deep vein thrombosis.

I first encountered DVT when I read the news about a person who died because of this. For people who don’t know this is formation of a blood clot in the deep vein (in the leg) due to immobilization like hospitalization. It’s also a risk for people who are in long airplane flights because they don’t get to move their legs often. Pregnant women are also known to be at risk. For a person like me who is always sitting down I can also be at risk. That is why I am already thinking of wearing compression stockings just to prevent these risks. Compression stockings might not be fashionable but the pros outweighs the cons.

Little baby took an unplanned trip to the mall today. I took this picture at the mall while we were waiting for his doctor. He is a little ill but we hope and pray that he will get better soon. The only thing that’s keeping me from panicking is the fact that he is still eating well and energetic.

We can’t imagine anything happening to our little one that’s why we’re protective of him. So I can only imagine how the people who got affected by the drug, Topamax, felt. Imagine, being prescribed a drug for an illness like epilepsy and migraine and not knowing that it can affect the baby in your womb? If that were me I would be really shocked and mad. Anyway, if you’re one of those affected do hire a lawyer and file a Topamax lawsuit. They can give you the compensation you deserve if you hire a good lawyer.
