It’s so hard to believe that it’s a BER months once again. We could really feel that BER months are the months full of celebrations and happenings which brings us a nice and warm feelings. At this early, Christmas songs are already played on radio and some of us are thinking about Christmas decors in and out of the house. For me the number one in my checklist is to shop for christmas ornaments as yearly give away for my friends and relatives. Having these ornaments I totally feel the spirit of Christmas.
It may be a cliche, but it would still be true. Every woman imagines a dream wedding a magical and unforgettable one because it is only a once in a lifetime experience for us.
For 8 years of being married, I can still picture myself getting married again in a magical setting, surrounded by forests and waterfalls, in an outdoor church with all the best amenities and services.
Any celebration involving the invitation of large parties usually includes party favors at the end of the event. It can be quite a dilemma trying to decide what to have as party favors. As the host and/or hostess, you may want to express your gratitude for the guests who have come to share in your joyous event. On the other hand, if you are considering cost, then you probably do not want to spend any more on the party than you already have. What to do? Although party favors are not a requirement to any celebratory event, it is a nice gesture of thanks. There are plenty of ideas for party favors out there in the market such as personalized candies, candles, picture frames, towels, kid appropriate trinkets etc. Party planners are coming up with innovative ideas to wow the guests. One clever option for a party favors are cupcake favor boxes. For the guests who cannot stay to the end of the cake cutting there are now beautifully designed cupcakefavor boxes to take their piece of dessert home while having a lasting impression of the night’s event.
The Carmina-Zoren wedding was the best wedding ever! Don’t you think Zoren was so romantic to plan the wedding all by himself? I think the hardest part of getting married is the stress of making it happen and making everything perfect up to the last detail. The brides usually take it upon themselves to plan the whole thing and make sure nothing goes wrong. Even if they have a wedding planner the stress is still there. That’s why it’s no surprise that by the time of the actual wedding, the strain and stress show on some of the bride’s faces.
But in Carmina’s case, it’s all different. Zoren was brave enough to handle the responsibility all by himself even choosing his bride’s beautiful wedding gown. I couldn’t help but hand it to him for doing a perfect job. Everything was awesome, and the scene of the two of them riding a canoe was breathtaking. But what made this wedding different from others was Carmina’s smile. It was the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen. She was positively glowing – and not from all the make up – but by sheer happiness of being given the ultimate surprise by her husband. She didn’t need to worry about choosing the motif, the venue, or even finding unique groomsmen gifts. It was all taken cared of by the love of her life.
I think a lot of guys were inspired by Zoren’s unprecedented move. I’m sure a lot of guys will follow his lead. Which leads me to this questions
If you’re the bride would you like your guy to plan your wedding for you?
We went shopping for Halloween costumes last weekend. The last time I shopped for costumes like these is three years ago. Back then there were not so many costumes and the good ones were expensive so I prepared myself to for a disappointment. But times have changed because when we arrived at SM Bicutan we were greeted with lots and lots of different Halloween costumes. Whether your kids want to become scary monsters or mysterious clairvoyants doing psychic readings they won’t have any problem looking for the costume they want. So we excitedly picked out the ones we liked best and went to the fitting room to try it out on the kids.
Kuya Z had his heart set out on one particular costume ever since he was a little kid. He didn’t get to try that one because mommy and daddy chose the cowboy costume instead. But now that he is bigger we allowed him to make his own choice.
Tadaa! He was now transformed into a cunning Ninja!
My first and only choice for Zack was the Captain America costume. He tried it on and it fitted like a glove. Mommy was so excited for baby’s first Halloween!
After picking the outfits for the kids we shopped some more. But horrors of all horrors, when we were about to pay we found out that Ate Rose gave back the Capt. America costume by mistake to the sales attendant while we were checking for new shoes. I hurriedly ran to retrieve it just as the attendant was giving it to another mother who beat me to the costume. The attendant said it was the last piece for that size so we had to go back to the fitting room to try to find a new one for Zack.
He tried on the King costume but the collar irritated him.
Next came the vampire costume but he wanted nothing to do with the cape.
Then came the giraffe costume which we almost bought. Doesn’t he looked cute in that?
Finally came the dinosaur costume but by that time he was already tired and cranky and very hungry! Daddy loved this costume so we bought this.
I decided to just let him wear the costume since he’s already unruly so he was wore it all over the mall.
Here he is going wild after filling his tummy.
Finally, he saw something he liked and decided to stop.
Kuya showing the newest addition to his car collection.
It was a good thing we let him wear the costume because last Monday he didn’t make a fuss and behaved splendidly at their Halloween party.
I am excited for our church’s swimming outing this September. It has been a year since we had an outing like this. I think it’s about time we get out and enjoy the water and the sun for a change.
I’m excited for the kids. I know they will really enjoy swimming in the pool. Their Dad brought out their small pool recently. They had so much fun even though they were just sitting there and splashing the water. So what more if they’re already swimming in a real pool?
If I have one concern it is the fact that the water might be too cold for Zack. Knowing him, he will try to stay in the water as long as his elder brother. But he’s just one year old so he might get sick or something. Well, anyway I hope the water won’t be too cold when we get there. Better yet, I hope they have one of those raypak pool heaters to keep their customers warm and happy.
We attended my goddaughter’s 1st birthday last weekend. We really enjoyed the event – the party decorations were awesome and the food tasted good. But what I liked most was the fact that our two kids had a blast!
Let me just say when Z was an only child attending birthday parties was not as enjoyable. There’s nothing wrong with the parties we attended but the fact was Z was so shy and it bothered us. He wouldn’t participate in games no matter how much we convince him. So it’s a relief now that he is finally coming out of his shell. He participated in the games and raised his hands wildly to answer the host’s questions. I don’t know if he is more confident now that he is already 7, or maybe he missed going out now that he’s homeschooling. Whatever it is, I’m so relieved to see this positive change in him.
Here are some pictures hubby took.
Our baby enjoyed it too. He sat by his brother even though the kid’s area was far away from us. He ate french fries and tried to sit still for as long as he could. It was so cute! By the time the games started he was already tired. As you can see by how big his yawn was in one of the pictures above. But he can be forgiven, after all he’s only one. hehe
Exercise is more fun when you have friends to do it with. That’s why I was delighted when we were invited by some of church mates to join their weekly jogging.
It was last Saturday when we headed to a police camp near our neighborhood and took advantage of their huge space to jog – or rather walk. I didn’t know they allow civilians inside their police camp but I’m glad they did. When we got inside I saw other civilians too, some even old men and women, jogging around the “square” oval. hehe
Of course, look who came with us. Little Zack was lucky he has his Dad to push his heavy stroller. He was like that sitting pretty while we huffed and puffed. If you’re wondering why the long face, I guess 5:00 am wake up time must have been too early for him. Just look at his sad face. Actually, it’s my fault. We watched a movie the night so he got to sleep later than his bedtime. Next Friday, I’ll make sure he’ll sleep really early.
While we were there, we saw hordes of policemen marching side-by-side like they were joining on a parade. It was nice to see them in their full uniform. We stopped to watch them for a bit. It’s not that often we see hundreds of policemen in one place.
Anyway, speaking of parades, in Austin there’s a different kind of parade called CowParade. No, they’re not parading live livestock but rather cows made from fiberglass. Each cow is beautifully painted with different colors one of which you can see below.
Thanks to US Money Reserve and other sponsors of this event because lots of sick children at Dell Children’s Medical Center will benefit from its proceeds.
Our church gave all Moms a treat yesterday.
After our Pastora’s sermon, which I will blog about later, the kid’s choir came out to sing the touching song, “Sa Ugoy ng Duyan.”
Kids and teens sang their hearts out for their moms. That’s Z second from right.
Then all Moms were asked to stand up in front. There were so many Moms we almost couldn’t fit. They gave us necklace made from candies. After which the kids came out with long stemmed roses. Sweet!
Before the program ended, a group of mothers also belted out a medley.
After the celebration, I took pictures of some of the moms. It’s evident they were happy with the surprise. Everyone had smiles on their faces.
Of course, I wanted to have a picture with my rose too.
Thank you so much for the touching surprise, BBT. You made lots of Moms happy today!
I’m currently arranging and uploading all my photos from my Mac. If you’re wondering where I upload my photos I only use Photobucket. Here are the reasons why I use Photobucket for my photo storage needs.
- They offer unlimited space storage for free.
- They have an easy uploader for Mac users.
- You can make collages easily for your photos.
- You can also add effects ala instagram.
So anyway, look what I found in my files. It’s our church’s 49th anniversary photos! This church was founded by my husband’s aunt, Ptra. Pat, who is now deceased. If only I was able to thank her before she died. She doesn’t know how many lives she changed because of her ministry. My husband is one of those people. He grew up knowing about Jesus because he attended this church ever since he was little. That’s the reason why he’s a kind and loving husband and father that he is now and why I’m such a lucky wife.
So now here are the pictures from last year’s church anniversary.
Our current Pastora in lovely blue
Don’t you just love the decorations?
That’s my husband playing the guitar and beside him is the “stairway to heaven.” hehe
The kids dancing for God. Z joined them this year.
There were “angels” to complete the heaven theme.
Hubby’s lola received an award for being one of the old parishioners.
My brother-in-law and his lovely wife.
Me and my angels.
I love Z’s pic here. He only poses once in a while so this pic is precious!
That’s my kumare, Roda, who was still pregnant with my inaanak that time.
Zack was only 7 months old then and now he’s already 17 months.
Expect a bigger celebration this year. It’s going to be our 60th Anniversary. Hurray! Wow, it’s such a feat to last that long. More years to come, BBT!
