Weekly Grocery List

I know you know I haven’t been going to the grocery weekly since the lack of updates here. It’s just that after splurging on my first weekly grocery post we found it hard to finish all the stuff we bought. We’ve had trips to the grocery here and there but just to buy a few items which I didn’t share anymore. But last week, we found ourselves short of a lot of items. So we trooped to the nearest mall and found ourselves for the first time at SM North.

It was our first time to really go there ever since its unveiling as the largest mall in the Philippines. So you can imagine our shock and amazement at how beautiful and big it has become! Just a side story, did you know that my husband and I first met at Wendy’s SM North? I actually forgot about it until hubby mentioned it to Z who tagged along that time. He wanted to show his son the early beginnings of our family – where it all started. haha! And it all began here when we decided to meet for the first time. Ahh, that was almost eight years ago. So many things have happened since then but I’m glad we’re still together.

So back to my grocery list. This is quite long so brace yourself.

Mommies, if you want to know when is the best day to go to the grocery then I’m going to tell you it’s Monday. We went there on a Monday and SaveMore was practically empty. There were more sales attendants than there were customers which meant we got the best service. They showed us where the best deals were! Everywhere we looked, there were attendants willing to help us. That’s why shopping was a breeze and we had a great time.

So what’s in my shopping cart for this week?  I think I got lots of savings, thanks to SaveMore’s promo of bundling items and including a free item inside.

Just take a look at this diaper for example. It comes with one liquid soap which we frequently use around the house.

Then we went to look for milk. It’s a staple here with two growing boys. We were not disappointed because they led us to find this. A pack of two Bear Brand powder milk with one roll of tissue paper.

How much?

Pwede na right? We actually looked up the price of one Bear Brand milk and we werent disappointed. Lookie, here we really did get the toilet paper for free.

We also bought two Modess napkins with free sponge.

We were quite disappointed because when we used the bath sponge it unravelled quickly.

Since we like Purefoods corned beef buying this next pack makes sense. But to tell you the truth I don’t know where to use the free mushrooms. Any ideas?

Lastly, we bought this Ariel laundry soap pack. Hubby said this should last us a month.

Now on to the regularly priced items.

We bought this Golden Fiesta Cooking Oil.

This Del Monte Spaghetti with Sweet Style sauce pack is supposedly for Christmas but who can stop us cooking it on a normal day?

One of the BC Bloggers suggested Frabelle Food’s hotdog but I can’t find one at SaveMore so I bought this Frabelle Foods Pork Ham and Tocino instead.

I got to tell you this is yummier than Pampanga’s Best and CDO’s Young Pork Tocino. The quality of the meat is better than the latter two. Basta mommies, you got to try this!

For our hotdog fix we bought this Purefoods Chicken Hotdog. It’s yummy alright but the kids won’t eat it. They still want the red hotdog. So maybe if they can make this red instead… haha!

Purefoods Fun Nuggets

Dari Creme Buttermilk

And since I can’t cook I will try to fake it with this Carbonara and…

I also went to the grocery store last Friday but I don’t get so much freebies like you :D I usually do the grocery one a month since downtown is quite far and we could not afford to travel in four wheels so frequent.

Ms. Paula, use the mushrooms sa lasagna,or better yet isahog mo dun sa carbonara. It is a perfect add on ingredient for both! And I miss dari creme! The photo made me nostalgic.
