Natural Whitening Deodorant

I have always been on the lookout for a whitening deodorant. Unfortunately, none that I have used so far satisfied me. The products on the market just continued to irritate and darken my underarms.

I have heard of the natural whitening deodorant called tawas (alum) a long time ago. I have tried it but only once as I didn’t find it convenient to use like the roll ons. It was coarse and dry. It was messy too.

Now, I found a convenient way to apply tawas on the underarms.

For those of you who want to apply it in liquid form just like the deodorants in the market here’s what you could do.

Add 1 teaspoon of powdered tawas and 1 cup of water. Put it in a spritzer bottle, the one they provide at the perfume stalls in the malls. You can also add a drop of perfume or cologne.

If you don’t have the spritzer bottle then just store it in a container and use cotton balls and wipe your underarm with it.

Now, you have a cheap and natural whitening deodorant.

Avon Skin Softener for Dry Skin

Photobucket

Avon’s Sweet Honesty Skin Softener works wonders with my dry skin. I have naturally dry skin. I don’t mind it most of the time in my arms and my body but my feet suffers the most. It turns white and scaly due to the extreme dryness. I tried using body oil but it’s so gross. I have tried so many different brands of lotions. They all worked great – in the first hour or so. Then I would notice by midday my feet were dry again.

Avon’s Skin Softener changed all that for me. It became an effective relief to my dry ugly feet and it is the only one that has successfully done so. Have I mentioned that it’s perfumed as well and comes in many different fragrance? Yes, it’s simply amazing.

It is also so affordable that it only costs approximately P150. I give Avon Skin Softener a five out of five rating.

Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace

Here is my newest Fave – Victoria’s Secret Vanilla Lace.

Refreshing Body Mist. Refresh with fragrance from a Secret Garden, infused with moisturizing Aloe Vera and calming chamomile. Mist over body after shower or bath for delicately scented skin.

I can’t properly describe the fragrance. It’s not too strong and it’s not too light either. I just love how it smells in my body. I feel very feminine when I’m wearing Victoria’s Secret Vanilla Lace. I’m not too conscious that my perfume is too strong because it’s just right.

My Facial Cleaner

I had been using Eskinol as my facial cleaner for years. I use it at night just before going to sleep. It’s an effective facial cleanser – removes the dirt that clogs your pores.

Before I used the Eskinol white but now I have switched to Eskinol Naturals Papaya Facial Cleanser. It’s “enriched with the natural skin whitening properties of real papaya. It thoroughly removes dirt and excess oils, leaving the skin looking clearer, whiter, and younger.”

Nowadays, it’s not enough to clean our face with soft and water only. Eskinol thoroughly cleans the face removing any dirt that’s not removed by soap and water. It’s also a toner to even out your skin tone. It also has whitening property from the papaya extract.

Calamansi – My Favorite Beauty Solution

I’m so loving  calamansi these past few weeks. It’s my favorite all-around beauty solution. I use it as my daily beauty routine just before taking a bath. It exfoliates, deodorizes, and whitens my skin all in one. I use it all over – in the face, elbows, knees, and underarms.

They say that it whitens it slowly but surely. You just need diligence in your routine for it to be effective. That is why this has been my daily routine for two weeks now.

Calamansi or the local variant of lemon is so affordable. That’s why it beats all those expensive beauty products that you just buy one time and then never buy it again. Since calamansi is so cheap and can be bought at the local market I will surely not run out of stock and would be able to use it consistently.

Here’s my daily beauty regimen using calamansi. I squeezed a lot of calamansi one time and store the extract in a container.

1. Dip cotton bas and wipe on face, underarms, elbows, and knee.

2. Leave on for 15 minutes just before taking a bath.

Binagol and Chocolate Moron

Last week, we went to visit Z’s ninong Jet. He gave Z his Christmas gift and we got some pasalubong too.

I don’t know what these are. They just got from Leyte where they spent Christmas and that’s where they got it. There’s no label for the first one but the second one there’s a small piece of paper that says, “Binagol.”

I did some research and found out that the first picture was called chocolate moron. Isn’t that name so funny! I wonder why they call it that. Do you know?

Where to Buy Biko/Bibingka?

We currently live in Cainta but I’m not a native. So I didn’t know that it’s famous for it’s kakanin and other native delicacies. Last Christmas we went around a bit and found a store, Aling Kika’s, selling biko.  We promptly bought a box for P150 but we gave it to my Dad and we weren’t able to taste some.
Last New Year, it was my husband’s birthday so we went back to the same store on New Year’s Eve only to find out that they have sold the last one a few seconds before I got there. Fortunately, someone referred us to another store called Hottah which was only a few blocks away. We were there and bough 2 boxes of bibingka for P140 each and 1/2 box of cassava cake. We weren’t able to taste both either because we gave it to my husband’s officemates as a treat.
So now that the holidays are over I’m left salivating for those biko we bought but never got to taste. Fortunately, Aling Kika’s is just a tricycle ride away from where we live. So I brought Z with me and off we went.
I took a shot but not before I ate two slices! Excuse me but I was craving it that much.

Now the thing that puzzles me is why is it called Bibingka? My lola used to make this and I grew up knowing this is called biko and bibingka is the one with grated coconut toppings.

Do you have any thoughts on this?

Where to Find the Coolest WordPress Templates

If you’re a blogger like me I know you agree when I say it’s hard to find the coolest wordpress templates for your blogs. It’s easy for me to say it now but oh, how I have wasted hours and hours online trying to find the template that’s just right for my blogs.  When at last I found the right one imagine my horror when after installing it I find out there’s an error that I just can’t tweak. When that happens I get so frustrated that I almost cry.

Just yesterday I tried to find a new template for this blog. As usual I wasted hours and hours clicking from one website to the next. This time, I’m successful and I’m so happy I found just the right template. It has got the right color that I love – pink – that brings out the girly side of me and it has the adsense at all the right places. LOL!

If you’re dying to find out where I got the template then just head over here: http://topwpthemes.com. I tell you they have the coolest wordpress templates and I’m sure you’ll find one that’s perfect for your blog.

Facebook Addiction

No, I’m not addicted to Facebook. In fact, I signed up way too late in Facebook. Why you may ask? Well, I go to this site every day – dailymail.co.uk. It’s like an online magazine or some may call it an online tabloid. I have read there a lot of times how people get so addicted at Facebook and how some people even get killed.

There was this particular story that stuck in my mind when a wife changed his relationship status from married to single. When the husband found out he killed his wife. I don’t know if it’s true but I assume it is because they even got his picture. So I thought that Facebook is definitely a no-no for both me and my husband.

Oh no, don’t get me wrong. I don’t think we’ll ever end up that way but that was what Facebook was to me – before.

Now, I super love Facebook! I don’t regret ever signing up. I’m a stay-at-home mom and it’s been great and I have been very thankful to be staying at home but it can get lonely sometimes. I don’t always have anyone to talk to and sometimes I just feel disconnected with the rest of the world and especially my friends.

Facebook changed all of that. It’s different from YM because you just can’t buzz your friends any time you want to talk to them. All of them have jobs and you’ll never know when you’re being an intruder. With Facebook you can say anything you want and anytime you want to. You don’t get a response every time but it feels good to know that at least they know what’s on your mind at the moment or what’s happening to you.  It may be weird especially for you people who are surrounded with your friends or colleagues but for me, it’s definitely a connection.

Still, I know there are dangers with Facebook but I’m glad I have been made aware of those before signing up. Currently, the only game I’m playing is Farmville and I like it though I’m still careful not to overdo things. I have also made Facebook my homepage so that’s the first thing that pops on my screen every morning. I love reading my friends’ status updates which instantly updates me on their lives. It’s not a replacement for actual human interaction but it’s good enough for me. :)

So how about you? Do you love Facebook?
